studio

the studio

we don't separate
the brand from
the room.

Most restaurants get two kinds of help. A creative agency that doesn't know the P&L, or an ops consultant who doesn't know the room. We built the studio that doesn't make you choose. Brand, space, and operations, under one studio, by an operator who's worked every seat in the house, from line cook to lease signature.

we are copper + we are oak

the plus sign in our name
is not decorative.

It represents the intersection of design thinking and practical restraint. Most studios choose a side. We hold both. That's not compromise — it's the entire point. A restaurant can't just be beautiful. It has to be bulletproof.

copper

The brand. The refined aesthetic. The warmth of a room you never want to leave. Our creative vision as a visual and verbal language.

the art

oak

The operational foundation. The budgets. The training. The structural integrity of a menu. The backbone that ensures a restaurant perseveres.

the blueprint
principles

how we work

three rules that hold
the studio together.

01

beautifully designed. operationally rooted.

We don't think of these as separate disciplines. The room photographs because the systems work. The systems work because the brand told them what to be.

02

saturday night is the only test.

Every choice we make on a brand, a layout, a menu, a P&L runs through one filter: does this actually work on a busy Saturday. If the answer's no, the work isn't done.

03

small on purpose.

The person who strategizes your brand walks your construction site. The person who designs your menu reads your P&L. One studio, one partner, no handoffs.

Cory Cannon, founder of Copper+Oak

the founder

from the floor
to the studio.

Copper+Oak grew out of a couple decades of building things end to end. The brand. The room. The menu. The systems. The P&L.

I founded wePresent, a wireless presentation product that shipped to 55+ countries, where I served as President and COO. Then I founded Siren Rock Brewing Company in Rockwall, Texas, a 13,000-square-foot brewery and restaurant I ran for eight years. I built the brand from scratch (the name, the beer characters, the can designs, the room), worked every seat in the kitchen and behind the bar (line cook, sous chef, chef, bar director, GM, owner), and ran the business as CEO.

I started Copper+Oak because the partner I wished I'd had when I opened Siren Rock didn't exist. A studio that designs the brand and the room with the same hands that ran the P&L.

built by people who've
been behind the bar.

the team

the people behind the plus sign.

Every project gets our full attention — designers, strategists, and operators who understand that restaurants are built by people, not processes. You work directly with the people doing the work, not a revolving cast behind the scenes. Our goal is to save you time and save you money, and make this an enjoyable experience like it's meant to be.
