How We Work
You already know what we do. This is how it actually feels to work with us — the rhythm, the timeline, when we need you in the room, and when you can step back and let us build.
here's what to expectStep 01
It starts with a form or an email. We respond within 24 hours — usually faster. Then we schedule a 30-minute discovery call. No pitch deck, no sales pressure. Just a conversation about where you are and what you're trying to build.
What we'll talk about
Where you are in the process — idea stage, signed lease, mid-construction, rebrand. What your vision looks like so far. What keeps you up at night. Your budget range and timeline. There are no wrong answers here.
Whether we think we're the right fit. What scope of work makes sense for where you are. A realistic timeline and a rough investment range. If we're not the right studio, we'll tell you that too — and point you somewhere better.
After the call, you'll have a clear picture of what working together would look like — even if you decide not to move forward yet.
Step 02
If it's a mutual fit, we put together a custom proposal within a week. Not a template. A scoped document built around your specific project — what we'll do, what you'll receive, when it'll happen, and what it costs.
What you'll receive
A plain-language breakdown of every phase and deliverable. No jargon, no hidden line items. You'll know exactly what you're getting and when.
A realistic project calendar with milestones you can plan around. Investment is structured in phases so you're never writing one massive check up front.
We build some breathing room into every timeline. Restaurants rarely move in a straight line — and the schedule shouldn't punish you for that.
design that works as hard as you do.
Step 03
Once the agreement is signed, we go deep. This is the strategy phase — the part where we disappear for a bit and come back with something real. We research your market, study your competitors, and build the strategic foundation everything else grows from.
How this typically works
A kickoff session where we ask a lot of questions. One or two check-ins during the strategy phase. You share any references, inspiration, or constraints that matter. Then you wait — and we build.
Market research, competitive analysis, mood boards, concept development, and early design exploration. By the end of this phase, the brand has a direction — and you'll see it before we go any further.
This is the quiet phase. It might feel slow from your side, but it's the most intensive stretch on ours. The strategy work we do here is what keeps the rest of the project from drifting.
Step 04
Now we execute. This is where concepts become real deliverables — logos, brand guidelines, interior renderings, menu systems, operational playbooks. Depending on scope, this phase runs anywhere from 4 to 16 weeks.
The rhythm of this phase
Scheduled presentation calls at each milestone. Two rounds of structured revisions per deliverable. Decisions on your end within a week to keep things moving. We keep a shared tracker so nothing falls through the cracks.
Tangible work at every checkpoint — not vague progress updates. Logo concepts, then refined systems. Layout options, then material selections. You'll never wonder what we've been doing or where your money went.
We don't present five logo options and ask you to pick. We present one strong direction with a clear rationale — and then we refine together. You hired experts. We act like it.
Step 05
For brand-only engagements, you'll receive a complete brand package with everything you need to implement it — files, guidelines, and a walkthrough call. For full-service engagements, we stay through opening night and beyond.
What this looks like
A brand delivery session where we walk through every asset and guideline. Print-ready and digital-ready files organized and labeled. A usage guide your team and vendors can follow without calling us.
On-site presence for soft openings and staff training. Real-time adjustments to flow, signage, and service during the first weeks. 30/60/90-day check-ins after opening to review performance and fine-tune.
We don't hand you a binder and disappear. Even after the formal engagement ends, we're a phone call away. Most of our clients become long-term relationships — not one-time projects.
Typical Timelines
Every project is different, but here are the ranges we typically work within. We'd rather give you an honest estimate than a number designed to close the deal.
Brand Essentials
Discovery through final brand delivery. Includes strategy, concept development, two revision rounds, and a complete brand package with guidelines.
Your involvement: 3–4 hours total across the engagement.
Full Design
Brand identity plus interior design, space planning, and construction coordination. Timeline varies based on build-out complexity and permitting.
Your involvement: bi-weekly check-ins, key decisions at milestones.
Turnkey Opening
The full journey from concept to opening night — brand, space, operations, staffing, and launch. We stay through the first months of operation.
Your involvement: weekly collaboration, especially as opening approaches.
Before You Ask
We hear these on almost every discovery call. Figured we'd save you the trouble.
It depends on scope — and we mean that. A brand identity engagement is a different investment than a full turnkey opening. We'll give you an honest range on the first call and a specific number in the proposal. No surprises.
Most of our clients are first-time operators. That's who we built this studio for. You don't need experience — you need a clear vision and the willingness to trust a process. We'll handle the part you haven't done before.
We're based in DFW, but we work with clients anywhere. Brand and strategy work happens remotely. For space design and opening support, we travel to you for key milestones — site visits, construction walkthroughs, and opening week.
That's perfectly fine. Our Brand Essentials engagement is designed for exactly that. Not every project needs interior design or operational consulting. We scope to what you actually need — nothing more.
Less than you'd think. We need you for key decisions and feedback at milestones, but we're not sending you homework every week. The whole point is that you focus on your business while we focus on the design and systems.
That's literally what the first conversation is for. You don't need a brief, a budget, or a business plan to reach out. Some of our best projects started with "I have this idea and I don't know where to begin."
Design without follow-through is just decoration. We're here for the whole thing.
Your Move
Now you know how this works. The next step is easy — tell us where you are and we'll take it from there.
